HONOLULU (Hawaii News Now) – Honolulu’s firefighters put themselves in hazards to protect the public. But on Monday they made sure to protect their own lives by taking part in free cancer screenings at the East Kapolei Fire Station.
National studies have found that firefighters have a 9% higher chance of developing cancer than the general public and they’re 14% more likely to die of it.
