MINNEAPOLIS — In 1992, the Minneapolis Fire Department made history when it staffed the first all-female crew.
By 2002, women made up 15% of the department. But now that pace has slowed.
“It’s definitely very heavy,” Julie Bode, a Minneapolis firefighter said. “Just knowing that yeah, three decades ago was the first time there was an all-female crew and currently there’s not an all-female crew on the department.”
