Franklin, MA — Over the past five years, Williamson County has grown by 6.7% to 264,460 people, according to statistics from the U.S. Census Bureau. In 2023 alone, Franklin grew by 1.3%, or a little more than 89,000 people, the Census said.
In order to accommodate this growth, the department said it is looking to “overhire,” meaning it will bring on more officers than needed.
